See & Do

The best way to see the area and all the city has to offer is to explore on foot. Follow the directions above for the city center.

The Marchmont area also has a lot to offer visitors. Warrender Park swimming baths is just across the road and there's a good selection of coffee houses, internet cafes, restaurants, grocers etc along the surrounding streets, particularly Marchmont Road and Sciennes Road. The fresh bakery and home made ice-cream from Margiotta's, the Italian deli on the corner of Spottiswoode Road, is well worth a visit!

Bruntsfield is a bustling shopping area with several bars and commendable bistros only a short walk across the Links from Marchmont. Both Howies and  Montpeliers restaurants are on the main street and are well worth a visit (Monty's banoffee pie is to die for!).  There's also a nice deli, Peckhams,  for luxury nibbles and lots of gift shops nearby for those wishing to flex their credit card muscles.
